Gift For Mother

Tip #1: How To Find A Gift For Mother That She'll Actually Like
The best thing to do when looking for a gift for mother is to sit down and write out a list of her true interests. If you don't want to do that, you can just think of her interests off the top of your head. She's your mom - what is she always doing? What does she wish she had time for but never actually gets around to doing? These are the things that will make a good gift for mother.
For example, my mom loves to paint. So for her last birthday, I went to the art supply store and secretly bought a couple of canvases, paint, brushes and an easel. On her actual birthday, my father, my sister and I whisked my mom away in the car to a hill with a gorgeous view of the countryside. We had prepared a beautiful birthday picnic, which she enjoyed. The really good part was when I pretended to go get a bottle opener out of the car, but then came back with the easel, canvases, paint and brushes. "Alright, mom", I said. "You love to paint. Happy birthday"! My mom painted the scenery that afternoon. It was something she hadn't done in a very long time. Later that day she told me it was the best birthday present ever! Did that make me feel good!
Tip #2: The Right Way To Buy Beauty Products As A Gift For Mother
If you're going to give your mom beauty products for her birthday or for Mother's Day, I have learned from experience that there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. The wrong way (not mentioning any names *cough cough - ok it was me*) is to charge into a perfume store and buy the perfume with the best looking bottle. My mom politely said thanks and then put the perfume at the back of her cupboard, never to be seen again until they moved house several years later. (I think it went to the charity store after that, though my mom was always too polite to tell).
The right way (so I'm told) is to work out which brands your mother currently uses, pick the one with the least amount of perfume left, and then to buy the exact same size. (The other, more reliable method is to buy her a gift certificate from a perfume store).
When giving your mother hair care products as a gift, a great idea (so I'm told by those who know better - ie, females) is to work out if her hair straightener is a top brand or not. (Guys, ask a girl). If it's not, you can buy a top brand of hair straightener, such as GHD, to replace it. Your mom will notice the difference and you'll have given her a great gift. If buying a hair straightener is too expensive for a present, maybe you can pool your resources with your brothers and sisters or your dad.
Tip #3: Homemade Gift Baskets Are An Inexpensive Gift For Mother
Making your own gift basket for mom is easier than it sounds. Here's what you need.
1. A basket (readily and cheaply available from home decor stores) 2. A piece of linen to line the basket with (optional; available from fabric stores) 3. Gourmet jams, cheeses, crackers, wine and fruit. 4. Two CDs by your mother's favorite artists
And hey presto! You'll have yourself a custom gift basket for mom.
I hope this article has given you some inspiration for a gift for mother.
