Memorable Corporate Holiday Gift Ideas

#1) A Best-Seller With Your Logo On It

My favorite corporate holiday gift is to give your client a best-selling book with your logo on the cover. You would choose a book that is related either to your business or to your client's business.

Let's look at an example. Let's say you are a motivational speaker and you want to leave a parting gift for the CEO after each speech to try to generate positive word-of-mouth and referral business. You would choose a book (from any major publisher) with a motivational message, and have your logo and comments inscribed on the book's dust jacket and first page. This is done for you by companies who specialize in giving books as gifts.

To continue our example, let's say you choose Aron Ralston's “Between A Rock And A Hard Place” (about the climber who had to cut off his own arm to escape from a boulder that had trapped him in the desert). Your company name and company logo would be on the cover of the book (William Smith, Motivational Speaker Presents “Between A Rock And A Hard Place”). You could also have a message inscribed on the first page of the book, thanking the CEO for having you speak.

As you can imagine, there is a very wide range of books out there to choose from as corporate holiday gifts. Whatever your industry, you are sure to find inspirational books (about overcoming engineering challenges, or the history of advertising – whatever's relevant to your industry) that are sure to be read and flipped through time and time again. After all, the average book is read by six people. That's why logo-branded books make the ideal corporate holiday gift.

#2) College Logo Memorabilia Gifts

The second corporate holiday gift I think works brilliantly is an item of memorabilia from the person's alma mater. Here's why. Everyone loves to remember their college days. But how many of us took the time (or had the money) to purchase some college logo memorabilia when we left school? I bet less than twenty per cent of us did. That’s why you’ll be in your client’s good books when you send them a gift from their alma mater. There’s a wide range of college logo gifts available.

For example, a quick look at the UCLA logo store, reveals that they sell things like UCLA golf balls, UCLA golf tees, UCLA coffee mugs and UCLA Bruins pool ball sets. These items (from the correct college, of course) make superb corporate holiday gifts.

Your only assignment (pun intended) is to find out which college the person went to (if they went to college, that is). The other thing to keep in mind when purchasing college gifts is to stay away from apparel such as polo shirts and sweatshirts. It's too easy to get the size wrong, which may cause offence to your client.

#3) Lobster Gift Baskets

The third corporate holiday gift I recommend is a lobster gift basket. Many people love to eat lobster but usually don’t get to eat enough of it. If you have important clients you need to impress send them a lobster gift basket. The gift package will include live lobsters, which guarantees their freshness.

Many lobster gift packages include all the important extras, such as clam chowder for entrees and chocolate truffles for dessert. Many businesses are using lobster gift baskets to seal important deals – isn’t it about time you started using this nifty business secret too? A caveat: Make sure the lobster merchant has plenty of good testimonials on their website.
